Scottish Islands

Currently we feature self catering cottages on the following islands:

The Outer Hebrides: the Isles of Lewis and South Uist: Ferries from Oban, Uig and Ullapool

The Isle of Mull: Ferries from Oban, Lochaline, Kilchoan

The Isle of Skye: Road bridge from Kyle of Lochalsh; Ferry from Mallaig

The Isle of Arran: Ferries from Ardrossan and Claonaig

Western Isles: Outer Hebrides - Lewis, Harris, North and South Uist, Barra: Described as 'jewels thrown down by God' these really are special islands. Timeless and evocative, it is well worth the effort to see these unique and dramatic islands. Quiet and remote, with stunning beaches and an amazing variety of wildlife, the Outer Hebrides soon become everyone's favourite holiday destination. The west coasts of these islands are fringed with white sandy beaches on which there are rarely more than a handful of people, even in the height of summer. Some of our most unique self catering cottages are to be found on these islands including a thatched cottage for 2 on the Isle of South Uist and a stunning luxurious 4 star holiday home for 8 on the Isle of Lewis. A cottage on the beach with sea views!

Skye: Probably the most well-known of the Scottish islands and much loved by mountaineers and hill walkers, Skye is easily accessed from the mainland by a toll-free bridge, or the romantically inclined can sail from Mallaig to Armadale! From the south end of the island we can offer another luxury holiday cottage for 7 called Gillean House and self catering doesn't get much better than this. At the far north of the island our top spot honeymoor cottage, Tigh Nighean Bhan, is a timeless and romatic self catering thatched cottage for 2. Cottages with sea views abound!

Mull: A dramatic island and one which is most popular. From the highest mountain of Benmore at 3,000 foot to the shimmering white sands of Calgary Bay, this easily reached island is justifiably one of the hot spots for island lovers. On Mull we have the sweetest holiday cottage with sea view and also the most dramatic castle with sea view. Self catering for 16 or self catering for 2 - we have them both on Mull. With island views, white sandy beaches and amazing wildlife sailings a holiday on Mull in an LHH self catering cottage can't be beat.

Arran: Known as Scotland in miniature, with the high mountains, glens and lochs in the north of the island to the rolling farmland and intensely indented coastline of the south and east. However, so easily accessed from the mainland by a one hour ferry from Ardrossan, Arran is a popular destination for holiday makers from all over the UK. Port Dearg Kildonan is new to the LHH portfolio in 2012 and is of an exceptionally fine standard with an equally fine location overlooking the sea and close to the beach and the hotel. Self catering for 8 is easy in this spacious and accommodating Arran holiday house.
